Hand Harvested American Sycamore Tree Seeds (Platanus occidentalis)

Over 100 Hand Harvested American Sycamore Tree Seeds (Platanus occidentalis) by Greenhouse PCA.  The American Sycamore is a very fast growing and low maintenance tree to grow. 

Sycamore seed pods naturally fall from the trees at the end of Autumn, disperse throughout the Winter and ultimately germinate in Spring.  When plant your Sycamore seeds you should mimic Springtime conditions.  

The seeds are very small, and should be planted no deeper than 1/8 of an inch below the soil line.  We reccomend starting them in pots or in seed trays which are kept moist and placed in indirect sunlight in an area that mimics springtime temperatures.

In ideal circumstances the seeds should germinate within 3-5 weeks, however they will not germinate if the temperature is too cold.  Starting them indoors or in a greenhouse is recommended.  Once the seeds are germinated they are fast growing trees; within two months the seedlings should reach approximately 4" tall.
